What is Wheat Germ?
Wheat Kernel is divided into three parts Endosperm, Bran (Choker) and Germ. Germ being the tinniest and inner most part of the kernel. It is the embryo of the wheat which sprout into a new plant. As a consequence it is the most nutritious part of the wheat. It is know as गेहूँ का अंकुर in Hindi.
Health/Nutritional Benefits
Wheat germ has a very high protein content and is also a good source fiber. Moreover it is great for vegetarians and vegans looking for ways to add protein to their diet.
It is a a rich source of folic acid which helps in the development of healthy new cells, prevent birth defects of the baby’s brain and spinal cord.
Wheat germ contains lots of fiber. Adding wheat germ boosts nutrients and keeps you satisfied longer thereby helps in weight loss. Just a couple of tablespoons can do wonders to your waistline. As it is a good source of dietary fiber, it also helps to relieve constipation.
Ways to include wheat germ in your diet
Wheat germ can be a healthy addition to a diet. Incorporating wheat germ in our daily meal is not difficult as it easily blends with whichever food it is added without compromising on the taste. Two tablespoons of Wheat germ can be included in any dish. Find below some easy ways to add nutrients to the food with wheat germ.
Harmony Toasted wheat germ can also be taken alone because of the crunchy and nutty flavor.
Wheat germ can be added to pancake batter, dosa batter, waffles and omelets.
Mix some wheat germ into dessert toppings. (eg -fruit crumble, apple pies)
You can add wheat germ to yogurt, cereals, raitas etc. The texture of wheat germ can add crunchiness and taste to these foods.
You can add wheat germ while making chapati dough (2 tbsp per person) but do not allow the dough to rest for more than 10 minutes as you will have difficulty in rolling out the rotis. I made rotis adding wheat germ, they were soft as usual but with the added nutritional benefits of wheat germ.
You can add wheat germ to your smoothies and milkshakes.
Sprinkle wheat germ to your fruit or vegetable salad.
You can add wheat germ to your soups. It also helps in thickening the soup.

u give a detailed recipe with lot of tips...which is splly useful for beginners.
