French toast is a very popular and delicious breakfast dish in which slices of bread are dipped in a mixture of beaten eggs, milk and vanilla extract. The bread slices are then fried both sides until they are browned. It is served topped with honey or maple syrup or jam or fresh fruits. There are endless variations when it comes to toppings. This is a basic and a very simple French toast recipe. Today we will learn how to make Simple French toast following this easy recipe.

Ingredients needed
Bread Slices – 4 (white or brown)
Egg – 1 large
Milk -1/4 cup
Sugar -1 1/2 tsp
Cinnamon powder -1/4 tsp
Vanilla Extract – 1 tsp
Butter as needed
Toppings as desired
Powdered sugar/maple syrup/honey/fresh fruits/whipped cream/berries
Preparation
Beat eggs well, then add milk, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon powder and whisk for a few more minutes until well blended.
Pour the mixture into a shallow pan. Dip bread slices in the egg mixture to coat both sides well.
Method
Heat a non stick pan/skillet and grease with a little butter.
When the pan is hot, place the egg coated bread slices and cook both sides on medium heat until browned. Use more butter if needed to cook the bread.
Serve warm with toppings of your choice.
Note – Use a day old bread as fresh bread falls apart when soaked in egg mixture.

Without egg is it possible
