Ingredients needed
Oats – 1/2 cup
Paneer – 1/4 cup
Carrot – 2 tbsp grated
Boiled potato – 1/2 cup mashed
Ginger green chilli paste – 1/2 tsp
Chilli powder – 1/4 – 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala powder – 1/4 tsp
Salt needed
Oil for shallow frying
Preparation
Pressure cook potatoes, peel the skin and mash it with a potato masher. Keep it aside.
Dry roast oats and keep it aside.
Method
In a bowl combine together oats, potato, ginger green chilli paste, grated carrot, grated paneer, salt, chilli powder and garam masala powder to form a dough.
Divide the mixture into equal parts, make balls from it and then lightly flatten the balls with your palm to form patties as shown in the picture below.
Heat 3-4 tbsp of oil in a pan and shallow fry the oats cutlet on low heat. Keep flipping it over and cook both sides until golden brown. It will take time for the cutlets to brown.
Enjoy it hot with tomato ketchup or green chutney along with your evening cup of tea or coffee.
Note – You can deep fry the cutlets if you like.

Thanks for the recipe. What kind of oats you are using
Ordinary quick cooking oats which we use for porridge. You can use any brand.
Can I use oats flour instead?

Hi Padhu,
Can we bake these patties? If yes, at what temp and how much time.
Thank you,
Sailu.
Yes, you can. Brush oil on the cutlets and bake in a preheated oven at 180 Degree C until it browns. In between you can remove it, flip over the cutlets to the other side and continue baking.
