Avocados can be enjoyed in many ways other than guacamole. Avocados contain a wide variety of nutrients. They are low in sodium, high in dietary fiber and has no cholesterol. Avocado salad is absolutely delicious and takes only 5 minutes to make! Today we will learn to make a simple salad with avocados.

   Ingredients needed

   Avocado – 1 ripe
   Onion – 1 medium size
   Tomato – 1 large
   Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp finely chopped
   Lemon juice – juice of 1/2 a lemon
   Salt to taste
   Pepper powder to taste

Preparation

Peel avocado, discard the seed and dice it into medium sized pieces.

Method

In a bowl, combine together avocado, chopped onion, chopped tomatoes (remove the seeds), coriander leaves and lemon juice.

Add salt and pepper powder to taste. Mix well to combine and enjoy!

Variations – You can also add a little chopped cucumber and capsicum to the salad.

Tips – To find out if an avocado is ripe, gently press it with your fingers, if it yields to pressure and leaves a dent, it is ripe.

    I tried this and it turned out very bitter... I ground avocado with a green chilli and mixed with carrot,tomato and cucumber.. how do we check if the avocado is bitter? Thanks for your excellent recipes

    • Thank you for liking my recipes. Only way to check the bitterness is to taste it before adding it to the rest of the ingredients. You can only check if it is ripe by gently pressing it with your fingers.
