Pressure cook potatoes the day before and put it in the fridge, the next day you can make aloo poha in just 10 minutes. It takes only 10 minutes to prepare Aval Upma. So keep poha/aval in stock at home. You can mix poha with beans carrot curry or potato capsicum curry and prepare breakfast in just 5 minutes. You can use leftover sabjis also. I used to prepare excess sabji/curry just for the sake of preparing some quick tiffin or breakfast with poha.

11. Always have some podi at home. If you find time, you can prepare it at home or you can get it ready made from the shops.
12.Now-a-days, you get everything ready made, so do not be particular to prepare everything from scratch. You can buy certain things ready made and reduce your work load.
13.Most Punjabi gravies are onion tomato based. You can prepare onion tomato gravy and freeze it in an air tight container. When required you can take needed quantity and heat it. Thanks wonderful tips. I have a short cut for kootu and moorkulambu arachuvitta sambar. Keep coconut milk powder handy. One tsp dissolved in little water can be used as ubstitute for ground coconut. And the taste is much better than ground coconut.

Fantastic blog! I’m impressed, I must say. Really rarely do I encounter a blog that’s both informative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head. Your blog is outstanding; the issue is something that not a lot of people are talking intelligently about it. I’m really happy that I stumbled across this in my search for something relating to this.

Hi Padhu… I have been following your recipes for quite some time now and have to say that I love them!!! Particularly, those simple recipes which are easy to make at home. I would like to share a tip with the readers. After I grate the coconut, I usually store it in 5-6 small containers ( say 1 coconut) as it is said that it is not good to put it back in freezer once you thaw the coconut. Hope this tip is useful to others.

Thanks alot padhu. U r a good role model. I have tried many of your recipes and they came out very well. I am facing a problem. BCS lunch is not hot kids are not eating at school. Suggest good hot pack. As I am a working mom, needs to pack by 6:30 to 7. Kids lunch time by 11:30. Waiting for your reply.
Padhu Sankar
Thank you so much Srivani. Glad you love my recipes. Regarding your query – why don't you try vaya tyffyn. It keeps food hot if you do not open in between. But I felt it was a little small but for school kids, it might be perfect. Check my review on vaya tyffyn. Use the search box to search "Vaya tyffyn review padhuskitchen".
