Padhu are there kuzhambu recipes for rice without using tamarind or coconut? Or is it possible to substitute tamarind with anything else?
Padhu Sankar
Most of the kuzhambu varieties given above are without coconut. Regarding tamarind, you can add tomatoes and reduce the amount of tamarind.

Wow, I was searching for some recipe and came to your blog. So many interesting and traditional recipes. I have to make all of these. Do you know a recipe called “Pulli kanji” (in Tamil) or something like that? It’s a rice recipe with vegetables and tamarind (puli) or so.
