Badam milk or almond flavored milk is a very delicious and healthy drink. It can be enjoyed either hot or cold. I do not like the instant badam mix we get in shops as it is loaded with sugar. When making it at home, we can prepare it to suit our taste. Today we will learn how to make badam pal/badam milk following this easy recipe with step wise pictures.

Ingredients needed
Milk -2 1/2 cup (1/2 liter)
Almonds – 16
Saffron – 3 strands
Cardamom Powder – 1/4 tsp
Sugar – 2 1/2 tbsp or as needed (I do not like it too sweet)
For the powder
Pistachio -3
Almonds -2
Cashew nuts -2
Preparation
Boil milk. Soak the saffron strands in 1/4 cup of hot milk.
Dry roast the ingredients given under “for the powder” slightly and powder it. Keep it aside.
Soak almonds in hot water for 1/2 an hour. Peel the skin and grind it with a little milk slightly coarse.
Boil the remaining milk on medium heat stirring continuously until it reduces a little.
Add the saffron soaked milk, ground almond paste, cardamom powder and sugar needed.
Boil on medium heat for a few more minutes stirring continuously. Add the prepared powder, mix well and cook for a further 2-3 minutes.
Remove from heat and serve hot. You can garnish with a saffron strand and sprinkle the powder we prepared.
For cold badam milk – Once it cools, refrigerate and serve chilled. Enjoy!!
