Rava Khichdi preparation

Method
When urad dal turns golden brown, add finely chopped onions, slit chillies and ginger.
When water starts boiling, reduce the flame to low and add rava slowly with one hand, stirring continuously with the other hand to avoid formation of lumps.
When all the water is absorbed, mix well, close it with a lid and cook on low flame.

Hi..Easy and delicious recipe.. tried it.. came out so well..Thanks for the wonderful recipe..
Thank you so much for this recipe. All the five or six times I have made upma had been a disaster. This one came out very well despite few veggies being undercooked. Your tips to test salt and the timing to add ghee was extremely useful. Thanks again.
Hi
I have heard as to lemon juice added in rava kichadi tastes great. Can you guide me as to at what stage of cooking lemon juice is to be added.
I am not sure as I do not add lemon juice.

Tanx for sharing
is rava kichadi is same as rava upuma and if not what ar the differences. (except you add bengal gram)
Difference between rava upma and rava khichdi is that rava khichdi has loads of vegetables, addition of turmeric and ghee. It is a little mushy than rava upma as we add more water to make rava khichdi.
It tastes super yummy.. Thank you
What do I need to add sugar or salt or both?
Khichadi came out well. Perfect measurements.
Hello padhu, I’m your big fan.
For this rava kichadi can you tell me if it is good to pressure cook for a 2-3 whistles? Will it turn out good?
Do not pressure cook. It will not be that good.
